FAQS

Your Questions — #HERAnswers

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

The answer is simple. Reality inspires me. It's frightening to know that someone is sleeping in the cold rain, or to know that a someone the same age as me is depressed and suicidal. As extreme as that sounds, it's real. I'm aware that I can't eliminate life's dealings and change the world, but just the smallest gesture could change the world for someone. Knowing that I hold the power to do that drives me even more.

WHERE DID THE NAME, #operationHER, COME FROM?

The name, #operationHER, embodies my journey to giving back to the community and helping as much as a can. Every community outreach project is an "operation" working towards something larger than today in preparation for tomorrow.

WHAT DOES THE LOGO REPRESENT?

The logo for #operationHER captures the silhouette of a girl with an afro. Although her identity is unknown, this girl represents #HER - a black girl that wants to foster change not only for the communities around her, but for those who grow afros just like her.

WHAT ARE THE GOALS OF #operationHER THIS YEAR?

The goals of #operationHER are to gain more traction, support, and to continuously grow throughout the year. Despite these uncertain times, we want to be present in the community and helping as much as we can through volunteer efforts (while physical distancing and wearing our masks!)
